Improve Your Performance: Adjust your TPS to achieve better performance. Experience smoother running, reduced flameouts, easier starting, and improved throttle response.
Why Adjust TPS: Due to manufacturing tolerances, not all throttle bodies are identical. Some may allow slightly more air than others. Adjusting the TPS voltage enables you to find the optimal value for your specific throttle body. Additionally, some models like the KTM EXC may come with excessively lean fuel maps, which can lead to issues such as misfiring, stumbling, and flameouts at small throttle openings. Increasing the TPS voltage slightly can enhance fueling, resulting in fewer flameouts and a significant improvement in smoothness and performance, especially at small throttle openings.
Simple TPS Adjustment: TPS adjustments are straightforward. Follow these steps:
- Increase the voltage by 0.02v and test.
- If it's better, increase by another 0.02v.
- Continue until you see improvement.
- If there's no improvement, reduce by 0.02v. You should quickly find your optimal TPS setting.
Usage Instructions:
- Set your meter to DC Volts. Choose the mV setting if available. DO NOT set your meter to DC current (amperage).
- Either briefly press the start button to power up the TPS system for approximately 8 seconds (starting the motor is not necessary), or start the motor and take your time.
- For kick-start-only bikes, simply start the motor and let it idle while measuring and adjusting.
- No external power supply is needed.
- This tool works on non-KTM bikes as well. Unplug your TPS and match your connector to one of the product photos.
